I want to become a tutor so that I can help young people become better prepared for college. Education is crucial to finding a good job in this economy. I want to help people excel in subject areas that they need help in. I believe this will be very rewarding for both myself and for the one I'm tutoring. My undergraduate degree was in Humanities. This degree has allowed me to gain knowledge in many areas. I took many classes in English, literature, history, science, and languages. I can truly say that I know how to study. And I can show others how to improve their study skills so that they can excel in any subject they desire. I also have some varied experiences that have helped me to grow as a person. While I was in graduate school, I trained to become an Army chaplain. This training allowed me to work as a chaplain candidate at West Point, NY. My experience there really challenged me. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. In 2009 I was a pastoral intern at a large church in Greenville, SC. I am currently pastoring a smaller church in Beaufort, NC. My time pastoring has helped me to improve my people-skills. And every time I preach (twice a week) I am honing my teaching skills.
